I’ve just finished some color samples from the amazing Cliff Chiang. Chiang likes to color hold some lines (change the value from black to whatever color.) I do the same thing with backgrounds but never on the parts of the figure. I’ve also known Adam Hughes to do it. It’s a fun but complex style. Going to play around with it more.
